Accessibility statement

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and accessibility is checked as it is built rather than audited once at the end. If something here is in your way, tell us and we will fix it.

What we build to

The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA. In practice that means the things below are treated as requirements rather than as improvements to make later.

Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, and the contrast of every color pair in the design system is measured from the published values rather than assumed.
Headings, landmarks and lists describe the real structure of the page, so a screen reader can move through it.
Images carry meaningful alternative text, and decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology instead of being described.
Animation is limited to a single short fade, and it does not run at all when your system asks for reduced motion.
Forms have real labels, and errors are announced rather than only shown in red.

Where we know we fall short

The before-and-after comparison sliders are operable by keyboard as well as by pointer, but a comparison of two photographs is inherently visual and the alternative text describes each photograph rather than reproducing the comparison.

This site links to third-party services — a review platform, a state license register, a manufacturer — and we do not control their accessibility.
